Pastor's Conference: Kenya, Africa 2012
Did you know that during His ministry on earth, Jesus directly touched the lives of Africans?
The New Testament gives several accounts where Africans witnessed the life Jesus and the ministry of the apostles. I also think of Simon, who was forced by a Roman soldier to help carry the cross with Jesus – he had traveled to Jerusalem from North Africa to celebrate the Passover with his two sons.
Then there is the book of Acts. Dr. Luke tells us that on the day of Pentecost, Egyptians and Cyrenians were among the crowd that heard the apostles speak with other tongues. And, chapter 8 records the story of a missionary traveling on a desolate road in the African bush when a man suddenly appears and asks, "Can you tell me who Jesus is?" The Holy Spirit directs Philip to interact with the Ethiopian, ultimately leading him to be used by God to take the Gospel of Jesus Christ throughout the continent of Africa.
Through the centuries, the Lord has used men and women from around the world to impact Africa for Christ – spreading the Good News of salvation. Today, Christianity is one of the two most widely practiced religions in Africa.
God has blessed me with an opportunity to go to Africa to host a pastors’ conference with more than 1,000 pastors slated to attend! This “Grace Conference” will focus on God’s grace in the lives of His people and His leaders. I, along with a few traveling companions, will be gone from August 20-30 and are thrilled to be able to spread the Gospel of Grace in Kenya!
Please consider supporting this grace-filled journey to impact Africa with the message of “Who Jesus is.” Whether you encourage us through your prayers, or you are perhaps able to assist financially, this is fruit to your heavenly account according to God’s Word (Phil . 4:17).
May the Lord Bless and add to you for your faithfulness to Him!
In His Service,
Pastor Rodney Finch
