Hey y’all.

It is day 95 (feels like it) and we are still “at the house”. We are safe and sound and blessed yet ready to get back out there. However I was thinking that this stay at home period should shape how we live going forward. How? I am glad you asked. We should always look to dwell in the house … The House of the Lord.

Dwell means to live at, settle, lodge, stay or abide. That pretty much describes how we are physically living now. Does our spiritual living mirror that? Are we locked in and loving the house where the glory of God dwells? Psalm 84: 1 – 2 reads

How lovely is Your tabernacle,
O Lord of hosts!
My soul longs, yes, even faints
For the courts of the Lord;
My heart and my flesh cry out for the living God.

These verses describe how our stay at home with God should look. Right out of the gate we see that we are in awe of God’s home. There is none like our God. Therefore his dwelling is a spectacular, one of a kind home of incomparable beauty. More importantly we are hosted by the Lord God Almighty!

Secondly, there is no better place we could be. No beach front house, mountain lodge, hotel, resort, mansion or private island is more desirable than the Lord’s courtyard. Just spending one day in his presence is greater than a thousand days anywhere else.

Thirdly, as a deer pants for water we desire to be refreshed by Him. Every centimeter of our being screams out in praise as we worship our Lord who is alive and well. During this stay at home, continually practice giving Him all honor and glory and praise. It will put you in a place you will not want to leave..

… even after Phase 3.
